Hi L. Romportl,

Thank you for caring for this rescued kitten and for being so proactive about her health.

The third eyelid can become visible for a number of reasons. You can find more insights here:

If the third eyelid remains visible or if her behavior changes, it may be worth consulting a veterinarian. You can also schedule a virtual consultation with one of our vets at Pangovet.com for further guidance.

We hope your kitten feels better soon! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Comment on Why Is My Cat Licking the Carpet? 5 Vet-Reviewed Reasons by Catster Editorial Team https://www.catster.com/cat-behavior/why-is-my-cat-licking-the-carpet/#comment-1137 Fri, 13 Sep 2024 08:00:21 +0000 https://www.catster.com/?p=482642#comment-1137 In reply to Fábio.

Hi Fabio,

Thank you for your question! Blanket licking and purring can have several causes, and generally, it’s not something to worry about. However, if it becomes excessive or you notice other unusual behaviors, it could indicate stress or an underlying issue.

Hi John, thanks for your question. As far as the science currently says, interspecies hybrids are not possible, even if genetically engineered. Definitely some ethical and philosophical questions posed if anyone was trying to develop this!

Comment on How to Keep Cats from Going Outside: 5 Vet-Approved Ways by Nicole Cosgrove https://www.catster.com/lifestyle/how-to-keep-cats-from-going-outside/#comment-1134 Fri, 13 Sep 2024 06:19:20 +0000 https://www.catster.com/?p=365017#comment-1134 In reply to Hal Mandel.

Hey Hal, sorry to hear about all of the kitty troubles you have had over the years. There are some cats that just do not want to be indoors, and it sounds like you got 3/3. There are certain breeds that are more well known for being indoor cats (though individual cats still vary). If you do decide to get a cat again, I'd recommend rescuing one that is already well-known for being happy and relaxed indoors – some cats don't ever want to leave their safety net of inside, they sound like the perfect cats for you. Best wishes.
